First, I want to thank everyone who submitted a prompt to the Memphis Fast Fiction project. It is because of you that I was able to finish this bit of insanity.
And finish I did. Three hundred and sixty five stories about Memphis, all with in the calendar year of 2011.
Where do we go from here?
Well, the first step is to let my brain re-congeal after that final sprint to the end, then I start editing.
I’m conflicted a bit on how hard to edit. Cutting to deeply after the fact might change the nature of the project. I knew there were going to be bad stories because I was writing every day. Making them into good stories to assuage my own ego after the fact seems wrong.
But, then again, no one wants something they are embarrassed of printed.
After that, I go looking for a publisher. If I don’t find one, then I put the book up on the print-0n-demand services and Amazon.
I’ll be slightly archiving the project in a few weeks, and by that I mean limiting the number of stories you can access at once time. I’ll have the home page pull up 5 random stories each time you load it, but I won’t let you go cruising through the archives. Gotta have a reason to buy the book, after all!
Again, thank you to everyone that helped me do this. I appreciate it more than you know.
